Let’s add 11/136 and 17/204.
1.) Enter in the fractions using the symbols below:
Note: It’s not necessary to use parentheses when you’re adding and subtracting fractions, because these calculators understand order of operations. However, I always use parentheses when I’m working with fractions on a graphing calculator. There ARE some operations that require parentheses, and it’s just easier to press a few extra buttons and use parentheses than it is to worry about getting the wrong answers.
2.) Press MATH, then select the first choice (it says Frac) by pressing ENTER.
3.) Press ENTER again, and it will give you the answer in simplest form.
Subtacting is the same way, except you use the subtraction button.
