In my classes, graphing calculators play a crucial role. Not owning a graphing calculator puts students at a huge disadvantage.
Yet these graphing calculators are extremely expensive, often costing more than $100. Every year in September, I always get phone calls from parents asking me what type of calculator they should buy for their child.
A graphing calculator is a big purchase, so I decided to make this website to educate parents who are trying to figure out which calculator to buy. One thing’s for sure: graphing calculators are a great investment that will take your child through four years of high school and college.
Several calculators work well for middle school, high school, and college classes, and my website is unique because I help you decide, without using a whole lot of technical language, which calculator has the best bang for your buck.
How do you use a graphing calculator?
I realize that it takes a while for kids to learn how to use the graphing calculator. Most kids can pick up a calculator pretty easily, but there are a still lot of functions on the graphing calculator that they’re probably not even aware of–functions that could help them raise their test scores or do better on the SATs.
I have also created a blog that works through real problems that children see in middle school and high school courses, and how to solve them exclusively on the graphing calculator.
I hope you enjoy my website and get a lot of good information from it. Feel free to bookmark it and come back soon!
